EMIStream Version 4.0 Coming Soon

NEC Informatec Systems, Inc. will be releasing an upgraded version of its EMI suppression tool, EMIStream. Version 4.0 will be available for purchase in February 2009.

As many of you already know, EMIStream is an EMI suppression tool that offers design rule check and power plane resonance analysis. By eliminating possible EMI issues at the initial design stage, EMIStream will improve efficiency, significantly decrease time and cost spent on evaluation process, and enable rapid time-to-market. EMIStream Version 4.0 has enhanced features catered to EMI experts enabling more accurate design rule check while keeping its user-friendly interface.

Here are the highlights for Version 4.0:

1.Far Field Calculation

With plane resonance analysis far field EMI is calculated by plane edge voltage. It allows you to see far field horizontal/vertical frequency characteristics and azimuth pattern.

2.EMI Check Error Filtering Function

This function allows you to filter errors and hone in on critical problems relevant to your design. You can filter errors depending on the frequency range which you an also customize. EMIStream will show you the list of errors that you check.

3.EMI Check Report Function

Checked items in EMI check error filtering function as well as the advices can be exported as graphics in html format. This will be very useful when sharing design rule check results with fellow engineers or third party. You can customize the report to fit your needs.

4.Design Rule Check Enhanced Features

One of the enhanced features is with Differential Signal Check where it not only checks trace length difference, but also phase difference.

5.Custom Parameter for Estimation of Radiated Electromagnetic Field Check

This function allows you to override the default value that is applied globally set in the GUI.

6.PIStream Integrated

You will be able to run PIStream from the EMIStream interface. Now you can suppress EMI as well as improve power integrity in one package.
