Power distribution network design in high-speed PCBs for noise
reduction and radiation mitigation
Dr. Jun Fan
This presentation focuses on the EMI and noise coupling
aspects of the power distribution network (PDN) design
in high-speed PCBs.
Several typical noise coupling and radiation mechanisms,
including plane-edge radiation, via-plane coupling,
noise propagation in power bus, etc., will be discussed,
together with corresponding design strategies.
The emerging new technology using electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structures in PDN applications will be introduced as well.
