| Report from APEX2005 (Anaheim CA) by ScanCAD. |
| |
| |
| APEX, the IPC Printed Circuits Expo and the IPC
Designers Council Summit all came together February 22-24 2005 at the Anaheim Convention Center California
and provided a great opportunity for people in the Electronics Industry all the way from design to
manufacturing to assembly to meet and exchange technical information. |
A total of more than 10,900 participated in these shows including both exhibitors and attendees. Attendee participation
was up over 5% from the previous year. |
Feedback from the show floor was overwhelmingly positive and indicated that
This was the best show in several years based upon both the quantity and quality of sales leads that were
generated. This is a strong indicator of continued improvement in the electronics market in North America. |
This years marks the 15th year that ScanCAD International has participated in this show (or its predecessor called Nepcon West).
ScanCAD exhibited their full line of products that range from PCB design, process control, inspection, programming and reverse
engineering equipment for the electronics industry. |
There was strong attendance this year in the ScanCAD booth, both by show attendees interested in products and the ScanCAD sales network to learn more
about how low-cost, flexible ScanCAD products can be used to catch problems before the production floor either in the design stage or in process setup. |
One product of particular interest was EMIStream, a powerful PC based EMI Suppression Support Tool that permits PCB designers to use their
CAD data to simulate emissions and make adjustment "before" reaching the prototyping stage resulting in much faster product to market, more efficient, compact desing
with lower number of components and lower new product costs. |
Many customers in the ScanCAD booth indicated a strong interest in EMIStream. Some typical comments heard were:
"We have been looking for a tool such as this and are very pleased that it's now available" and "We can really see
how this software tool would dramatically improve our current process". |

ScanCAD International will next be exhibiting their products, including EMIStream, at:
